Wet petals

Do you know when after rain

the sun strikes and the flowers

hold strongly the weight of

shining water drops?

Have you felt when the drops

remain on the petals and

the petals endure and wait

patiently in silence?

I am waiting too

soaked and tired

but mostly waiting the

comfort of my own solitude

When the wind blows

I hold myself with fear

I must admit it to admire all

beauty in the sparks of courage.

It’s a painful favor the wind

sends to the flowers

It’s a bitter favor the rain

offer us every time.

We girls have learned well

some petals won’t make it, but

how could we stay the same

through the end of the spring?
